Just a few kilometres from Alessandria, this is one of Piedmont's oldest and most renowned fairs, founded in 1955. It takes place in Piazza Carlo Alberto on Sunday 18 October (and Sunday 25). Beyond the fresh truffle market, you'll find local specialities, local wines, and the award for the year's best truffle. A great day trip.
✨ Tufo & Tartufo — Regional Truffle Fair in Odalengo Piccolo (AL)
About 40 minutes from Alessandria, this event takes place on Sunday 12 October in the village centre. Besides the food-and-wine market, this fair is famous for its authentic atmosphere and offers a traditional lunch (no booking needed), workshops for children, an art exhibition, and even an award for the best truffles brought by local hunters themselves. Perfect for a day steeped in tradition.
A gourmet's tip: throughout the area between Alessandria and Asti, from October to December, look out for "Le Tavole del Tartufo" ("Truffle Tables"), where many restaurants offer menus dedicated to this precious tuber.

If you're a true enthusiast and can plan a longer trip, we'd point you to the most prestigious event in the world: the Alba International White Truffle Fair.
Held in Alba, in the province of Cuneo, every weekend from Saturday 10 October to Sunday 6 December. It's a unique experience combining international auctions, cooking shows, pairings with great wines like Barolo and Barbaresco, and the magic of the UNESCO-listed hills.
